The new 2015 Honda Civic Type R shall be expected to be released in 2015 with a 2.0l turbo engine that will replace the old the conventional high-revving VTEC. With such upgrades Honda’s set to re-enter and greatly change the competition in its segment with the new Civic Type R.
2015 Honda Civic Type R Design
Its designers have dubbed it the “race car of the road” with its wild body being a tangible evidence support to this. It will have radically flared wheel arches and have vents behind them, a big rear wing with integrated LED-brake lights and a full width- diffuser with double exhausts that enhance the Type R’s rear appearance to look more of a touring car other than an everyday purpose car. Its low bumper splitters forms an aerodynamic fin in front of each wheel making in more streamlined and gives it a more racing style which is further enhanced by its double diffusers.
The arches above the 20 inch wheels show its large track increase compared to other standard cars. The new 2015 Type R civic will be available in its generic championship white vinyl. Although the showcased concept did not feature the red Type R with specks of gold it is expected that this will be one of the color coats that this car will be presented with.
With a 2.0l turbo-charged engine, this power unit will deliver up to 276bhp and 400Nm of torque. The previous models of the Honda civic type have used this unique Variable valve timing and lift electronic control (VTEC) power unit that applies the working of different profiles of the camshaft to produce the extra power that much needed to further boost this car’s speed. This, coupled with its new turbo engine will make this new model of the Type R much faster and more efficient than ever before.
Honda said that this new model will be able to sprint fro 0-60mph in just 6 seconds and will still be able to manage to do 40 miles per gallon which is far much better compared to its previous models 31mpg.
